FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Northern Colorado struck first but couldn't hold off a late push from No. four Arkansas, falling 13–2 as the Razorbacks pulled away in the final innings.

The Bears came out aggressive in the top of the first, as Brett Barber and Jaden Stone reached base and created early pressure. A throwing error allowed Barber to score the game's first run, and Easton Bryant followed with an RBI single to give UNC a 2–0 lead.

Arkansas responded in the bottom half of the inning with a lead off home run from Damian Ruiz and went on to even the score before the frame ended. The Razorbacks carried that momentum into the second inning, taking a 3–2 lead, and added two more runs in the third to stretch the advantage to 5–2.

Northern Colorado threatened in several innings but couldn't capitalize. Mason Griffin recorded a lead off single in the second, and the Bears put runners aboard in both the third and sixth but were unable to bring them home. After a stretch of scoreless innings, Arkansas broke the game open in the seventh. A solo home run from TJ Pompey ignited a four-run frame, with the Razorbacks using walks, a double and a passed ball to extend the lead to 9–2.

Arkansas added four more runs in the eighth, combining timely hits with additional free passes to seal the 13–2 result.

ON DECK: Northern Colorado looks to bounce back in game two of the midweek series against the Razorbacks. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. MDT at Baum-Walker Stadium.
