STOCKTON, Calif. – Northern Colorado closed the weekend series at Pacific with a 5-4 victory Sunday at Bill Simoni Field.

The Bears struck first in the third inning when KK Christie doubled and later scored on an RBI single from Amailee Morales. Ella Gonzales followed with a two-run double to give Northern Colorado a 2-0 lead.

UNC added three more runs in the fifth. Christie singled to spark the rally before Morales delivered another RBI hit and Gonzales drove in two more to extend the lead to 5-0.

Pacific responded in the sixth with four runs to trim the deficit to one, but Northern Colorado held on down the stretch.

Ellyse Hydock earned the win after pitching 5.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits. Grace Algrim recorded the final five outs to secure her third save of the season.

Christie and Gonzales each finished with two hits to lead the Bears, while Gonzales drove in three runs in the victory.

Northern Colorado improved to 14-15 overall with the win.

DUE UP: Northern Colorado returns to Greeley next weekend to host Saint Mary's for a three-game series at Gloria Rodriguez Field.
