Bears Gain Momentum Heading to Final Round After Strong Monday Showing at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Northern Colorado men's golf continued its strong showing on Monday at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona, highlighted by a pair of standout rounds that pushed multiple Bears up the individual leader board during round two and moved the Bears up four spots on the team leader board.
Thomas Barnes Grimes surged into contention after turning in an impressive 6-under-par 66, jumping nine spots to sit T4 at 8-under for the tournament. Barnes Grimes played one of the best rounds in the field on Monday and now leads Northern Colorado heading into the final round.
Kaelen Dulany delivered one of the biggest moves of the day for the Bears, climbing 26 spots on the leader board after a 6-under-par 66 of his own. Dulany now stands T12 at 6-under, giving Northern Colorado two golfers inside the top 15 following 36 holes.
Cooper Tate remained steady near the top of the lineup, carding a 1-under-par 71 in round two to move to 3-under for the tournament and T21 overall.
Rowan MacDonald posted a consistent even-par 72 in the second round, continuing a solid performance for the Bears.
Talan Gover improved his score on Monday, turning in a 3-over-par 75 in round two.
Competing individually, Lucas Raoul closed his day with an 8-over-par 80.
With Barnes Grimes and Dulany both firmly in the hunt, Northern Colorado will look to carry its momentum into the final round of the Loyola Intercollegiate.
