BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The Northern Colorado Women's Golf team turned in a strong showing during the opening day of the Lady Clerico Tournament at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, finishing the first two rounds in fourth place heading into Tuesday's final round.
The Bears were powered by an outstanding performance from Timbre Shehee, who set the tone early with an even-par 72 in the first round. She then caught fire in round two, carding a stellar five-under 67—the lowest round of the day for Northern Colorado—bringing her total to 137. That effort has Shehee sitting in second place on the individual leader board.
Samantha Colombine, opened strong with a one-under 71 in the first round before finishing with a 78 in the second. Jaci Hartman mirrored that start, also shooting a one-under 71 in round one and following it with a six-over 78 in round two, keeping her inside the top half of the field.
Olivia Salonek showcased consistency across both rounds, battling back from a six-over 78 in round one to post an improved two-over 74 in round two. Shae Maiorana rounded out the lineup, finishing with an 81 in the morning and trimming two strokes off in the afternoon with a 79.
As the Bears enter Tuesday's final round, they remain within striking distance of the tournament lead. With Shehee pacing the squad and several teammates in position to climb, Northern Colorado looks poised to make a push in the final round.
