UNC Women’s Golf Sit Tied for Second at Big Sky Championship After Round One

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Northern Colorado women's golf turned in a strong opening round performance at the Big Sky Championship Tournament on Monday, positioning themselves near the top of the leader board after 18 holes.

The Bears finished Round one tied for second place with a team score of 284 sitting just two strokes behind Northern Arizona.

Northern Colorado was led by Samantha Colombine, who carded a two-under 69 to finish tied for fourth individually. Timbre Shehee and Olivia Salonek each added even-par rounds of 71, placing both golfers in a tie for 10th.

Jaci Hartman and Carolina Fallotico rounded out the scoring for UNC, each posting a 73 (+2) and tying for 18th overall to keep the Bears firmly in contention heading into the second round.

With all five scoring golfers finishing inside the top 20, Northern Colorado showcased consistency throughout the lineup and remains in a strong position as the Big Sky championship Tournament continues Tuesday, April 21.

NEXT TEE: The Bears will look to build on their opening-round success and carry it into Round two of the Big Sky Championship Tournament.
