Big Sky Releases Women's 2025-26 Conference Basketball Schedule

Bears kick off Big Sky play on home court January 1, 2026
GREELEY, Colo – The Big Sky Conference released the 2025–26 league slate for the University of Northern Colorado women's basketball program.
Under the direction of head coach Kristen Mattio, the Bears will tip off conference play with a two-game home stand at the Bank of Colorado Arena, hosting Montana State on (Jan 1.) and Montana on (Jan 3.)
Northern Colorado then hits the road for its first conference trip, traveling to face Idaho State on (Jan 8.) and Weber State on (Jan 10.) The Bears return to Greeley to host Portland State on (Jan 15.) and Sacramento State on (Jan 17.)
UNC's second half of conference play begins with a trip to Bozeman to face Montana State on (Jan 19), followed by a home match up against Northern Arizona on (Jan 24.) The Bears continue their home stand by hosting Idaho on (Jan 29,) before heading to Eastern Washington on (Jan 31.)
February opens with a home game against Weber State on (Feb 5), followed by Idaho State on (Feb 7.) A three-game road stretch follows, with stops at Sacramento State on (Feb 12), Portland State on (Feb 14), and Northern Arizona on (Feb 21.)
UNC wraps up the regular season with a home game against Eastern Washington on (Feb 26), a road game at Idaho on (Feb 28), and a final road showdown with Montana on (Mar 2.)
Once the regular season wraps up, all 10 Big Sky programs will head to Boise, Idaho for the 2026 Big Sky Basketball Championships, set for March 7–11 at Idaho Central Arena. The annual "Starch Madness" tournament will showcase 18 games over five days, with NCAA Tournament spots up for grabs for both the men's and women's champions.
The Bears wrapped up the 2024-25 season with a 14-17 overall record (.452) and went 6-12 in conference play. UNC had some standout moments throughout the year. One of the most impressive wins came early in the season when the Bears dominated Utah State at home with an 85-57 victory. They followed that up with a statement road win in Provo, Utah, edging out BYU in an overtime thriller, 67-60.
