Bears Surrender Late Goal as Rams Rally to Steal Win in Greeley

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's soccer suffered a tough 2–1 loss to Fordham at Jackson Stadium in a game that came down to the final minutes.

The Bears started strong, dominating possession in the first half. Their early intensity paid off in the 9th minute when Lexi Tuite found the back of the net, assisted by Brooke Holmberg, to give UNC a 1–0 lead.

Fordham equalized in the 31st minute with a goal from Ava Guidice. The match remained tied until the 89th minute when Liina Tervo scored the game-winner for the Rams.

"This is the best we've played," said Head Coach Barrera. "Even though it's a loss, the players did everything we asked—played hard, played for each other. The big message is to keep improving, and we'll take this performance into the next match."

The Bears will aim to bounce back when they face Southern Utah at home on Thursday, August 28. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
