Three-time state champion and local standout brings winning pedigree to the Bears
GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado volleyball program has added another proven winner to its 2025 recruiting class with the signing of defensive specialist Jasmine Ogren, head coach Lyndsey Oates announced Tuesday. A 2025 graduate of Thompson Valley High School in Loveland, Colorado, Ogren will join the Bears as part of the Class of 2029.
A 5-foot-9 native of Greeley, Ogren brings a decorated prep and club career to UNC, highlighted by three Colorado 4A State Championships and four varsity letters. Known for her defensive instincts and leadership, Ogren anchored the back row for Thompson Valley and helped guide the Eagles to four straight state title match appearances, including championships in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
"We are excited to add a local product, Jasmine Ogren, to our roster this fall," said head coach Lyndsey Oates, "She is the type of student athlete that will be a culture builder and is passionate about what we are building at UNC. She is a great athlete that we will see significantly get better at the college level."

On the club scene, Ogren competed in national-level tournaments, earning a USAV National Bid each year from 2022–2024. Her consistency and defensive prowess made her a key contributor in high-pressure moments.
Ogren also lettered in basketball and was recognized with the Eagles Strong Award in 2021 for leadership and culture. Off the court, she enjoys wakesurfing, fishing, snowboarding, and volunteering.
She plans to major in biological sciences at UNC and pursue a career in medicine, with the goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. A legacy Bear, Jasmine's mother Kristi is a UNC alum.
Ogren chose Northern Colorado for its strong team culture and academic programs.
She is the daughter of Kristi and Jason Ogren and has one brother, Kadin. Her greatest sports moment was winning a third state title her senior year alongside nine fellow seniors.
