PREVIEW: UNC Volleyball Heads to Boulder for Colorado Classic

GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado Volleyball will hit the road this weekend, traveling to Boulder, Colorado, for the Colorado Classic. The Bears will compete in three matches over three days, beginning Friday against New Mexico before facing Wichita State on Saturday and No. 23 Colorado on Sunday at 3 p.m. MT inside the CU Events Center.
Northern Colorado will open the weekend against New Mexico on Friday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. MT. The Bears will then return to action Saturday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. MT against Wichita State before closing out the weekend Sunday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. MT against host No.23 Colorado.
The three-match slate will give UNC an opportunity to build momentum early in the season against a challenging group of opponents.
Fans can follow all the action live on ESPN+ and stay up to date through the official UNC Volleyball social media channels.
LAST TIME OUT: The Bears are coming off a trip to Fort Collins where they faced in-state rival Colorado State. Northern Colorado will look to bounce back and put together a strong showing throughout the three-match weekend in Boulder.
THE OPPONENTS: New Mexico enters Friday's matchup 0-2 overall. The Shockers hold a 2-1 overall record heading into the weekend, while Colorado enters the weekend ranked No. 23 nationally and undefeated at 3-0. The Buffaloes opened their season by sweeping CSUN and Central Arkansas before earning a third straight sweep against Denver.
