Kansas standout brings championship pedigree and versatile athleticism to the Bears
GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado volleyball program continues to bolster its roster with the addition of middle hitter Cy Rae Campbell, head coach Lyndsey Oates announced Monday. A 2024 graduate of Heritage Christian Academy in Olathe, Kansas, Campbell will join the Bears as part of the 2028 class after transferring from Wake Forest University.
Campbell brings a decorated high school and club resume, marked by elite-level play, consistency, and leadership. A four-time Kansas state champion and multi-year All-State selection, she has excelled as a force at the net and as a well-rounded athlete.
"Cy Rae is a great athlete with an exceptional arm. We will be able to use her in a variety of ways, especially in our offense," said Head Coach Lyndsey Oates, "We're excited for her to join our already veteran group."

A 5-foot-11 middle hitter, Campbell was a four-year varsity letterwinner and named to the Kansas All-Tournament and All-State teams each year of high school. She played a critical role in leading Heritage Christian Academy to four consecutive state championships. At the club level, she helped U18 KC Power earn a third-place finish at GJNC in the open division and U17 Dynasty to a second-place open finish. She is also a two-time National Team Development Program (NTDP) attendee and was named MVP at the Under Armour Next Event Camp.
Campbell also competed in track and field, qualifying for the Kansas state meet.
Her honors include:
4x Kansas Volleyball State Champion
4x Kansas All-State & All-Tournament Team
3x High School Co-MVP
Under Armour Next Event Camp MVP
2x GJNC Open Division Medalist (U17, U18)
2x NTDP Participant
Campbell transferred to UNC after spending a year at Wake Forest University and is currently undecided on her major. She chose Northern Colorado for its competitive volleyball environment, exceptional coaching staff, and tradition of success.
She is the daughter of Mica and Brad Campbell and has three siblings, Aysa, Cherith, and Clark. Her greatest sports moment is winning a state volleyball title every year of high school.
