Morales doubles, Bears strand six runners
PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico - Northern Colorado dropped its third game of the season, falling 8-0 to No. 4 Oklahoma State at Nancy Almaraz Field. The Bears struggled to generate offense against the Cowgirls' pitching, collecting just three hits in the loss.Â

Oklahoma State struck early, scoring in the first inning after a leadoff single and a pair of groundouts moved the runner home. The Cowgirls added two more in the third, capitalizing on a pair of hits and a Northern Colorado fielding error to extend their lead to 3-0.Â

UNC threatened in the first when Amailee Morales roped a leadoff double down the left-field line. Katie Walling followed with a single and Ella Gonzales added a single to load the bases, but OSU's defense held, stranding all runners with a strikeout and a flyout.Â

The Cowgirls added insurance runs in the later innings, scoring in four of their six at-bats. A two-run fifth, highlighted by an RBI single from Tallen Edwards, pushed the lead to 5-0. Oklahoma State then closed the game with a pair of runs in the sixth to secure the run-rule victory.Â

Anna Wilming started for UNC, tossing five innings while allowing three earned runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts. Tivoli Martinez entered in relief in the sixth for her first collegiate appearance but was unable to stop OSU's momentum.Â
