King Named Kwik Star Summit League Baseball Peak Performer of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Northern Colorado's Jake King earned the first Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor for the 2025 season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

King played a pivotal role in Northern Colorado's series split at Utah Tech, delivering key hits in crucial moments. He totaled seven hits, four RBIs, and two doubles over the four-game stretch. In the second game, his clutch two-run single in the sixth broke a 7-7 tie, giving the Bears the momentum they needed.

In the series finale, King once again came through in the clutch, smashing a two-run double in the ninth inning to secure the Bears' 5-4 victory. He recorded multiple hits in three of the four games, finishing the series 7-for-16 with three runs scored.

For the week, King ranked second in the Summit League in hits (7), ninth in batting average (.438), and tenth in on-base plus slugging percentage (1.089).
