PREVIEW: Bears Set to Host Northern Arizona for Regular Season Finale
11/19/2025 9:41:00 AM | Women's Volleyball
GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado Volleyball (14–14, 11–4 Big Sky) is gearing up for its final regular-season conference match, hosting Northern Arizona (22-6, 13-3 Big Sky) in what will be a critical match for the Bears.
UNC enters the match up riding the confidence of a successful 2–0 week. The Bears opened with a dominant three-set sweep over Idaho State (9–17, 5–9 Big Sky) before carrying that energy into Saturday night's gritty four-set win over Weber State. In that contest, three Bears reached double digits in kills, showcasing the team's offensive depth. Isabel Bennett and Bella Van Lannen led the way with 13 kills apiece, each hitting at an impressive rate and providing steady scoring throughout the match.
Setter Nerea Alvarez Jorge continued to demonstrate exceptional composure and leadership in guiding the offense. She delivered 43 assists and added 12 digs, securing yet another double-double and reinforcing her role as a key contributor on both sides of the ball.
Defensively, libero Bella LePore set the tone with 12 digs against Weber State, anchoring the back row and helping the Bears control the tempo. She will look to carry that strong defensive presence into Friday's important match up with Northern Arizona as the team aims to close out its Big Sky regular season schedule on a high note.
Northern Colorado will aim to reverse the outcome of its earlier match up with NAU, secure a share of the Big Sky Regular Season Championship, and carry that momentum into next week's tournament, which begins on Monday, November 24.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Lumberjacks roll into Greeley riding a three-match winning streak, highlighted by a four-set victory over Idaho State that included an incredible 44–42 second set. NAU enters the match up at 22–6 overall and 12–3 in conference play. In the teams' first meeting this season, the Lumberjacks swept the Bears in straight sets.
