GREELEY, Colo. – Jerome Campbell has been named Big Sky Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Campbell earned the honor following his standout performance in the 60m hurdles at the Ted Nelson Invitational on January 25 in College Station, Texas.
Campbell posted a conference-leading time of 7.60 in the 60m hurdles, just shy of his UNC and Big Sky Conference (BSC) indoor record of 7.58, which he set in 2023. A two-time Big Sky champion in the 60m hurdles (2023, 2024), Campbell also placed seventh in the event at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
"I am so proud of Jerome," said Director of Track and Field Wayne Angel. "He continues to push the envelope in his training to be the best. He is most deserving of this award."
The Kingston, Jamaica native currently holds the top time in the Big Sky, ranks sixth in the NCAA, 12th in the world, and first in Jamaica. This marks Campbell's third career Big Sky weekly honor.
Northern Colorado has now earned two Big Sky Athlete of the Week honors this season: Jerome Campbell (Jan. 27) and Digby Marshall (Dec. 16).
