AMES, Iowa – Anneliese Wong netted her first career goal in Northern Colorado's 1-0 victory over Iowa State Sunday at Cyclones Sports Complex.
Kaya Lindberg stopped all six shots on goal by the Cyclones and posted her first clean sheet of the season. The redshirt-junior from Rancho Palos Verdes, California netted the sixth shutout of her career.
UNC peppered the Iowa State goal in the opening 45 minutes, with six shots, including five on net. The Cyclones managed three attempts, with Lindberg turning away the lone shot between the posts.
Wong handed the Bears the advantage with just over five minutes remaining in the first half.
Facing a deficit, Iowa State modified its offensive tactics and morphed into an attacking posture. The Cyclones pushed forward with more pace after sitting back most of the opening stanza and manufactured 12 shots over the final half. Lindberg turned away all three attempts on the net and preserved the blank on Iowa State's side of the scoreboard.

Thoughts on the team's performance
"Great result for the Bears today. I am proud of how the team played. We used 21 players on a warm day and everyone played well. It was a great team effort."
Playing with the lead
"It was a great finish by Anneliese and we made it hold up. We had a bend-but-not-break defense that held strong and played until the final whistle."
Offensive pressure
"We knew our offense was starting to come together and today we created quite a few opportunities. It was really cool to get the effort but even cooler to see the result come, especially on the road against a Big 12 opponent."
