UNC Defeats Weber State in BSC Opener

OGDEN, Utah – Northern Colorado lifted the lid on the 2024 Big Sky Conference schedule with a 3-1 victory over Weber State Thursday at Wildcat Soccer Field.
Mia Norman opened the scoring with a goal off a set piece in the 35th minute. She lined up a free kick near midfield and her service into the 18-yard box and skipped over the keeper's head and into the Wildcat goal.
Lauren Woodhull doubled the Bears advantage with three minutes remaining before the half. She tallied her second goal in as many games when she finished on an assist from Taryn Rae
Sunnie Yarnell notched her first-career goal with 30 minutes remaining, pushing UNC's advantage to three when she won her 1 v. 1 battle and beat the keeper to the lower right side of the goal.
With UNC control, a mix up by the Bears led to a turnover and the lone tally for Weber State seven minutes later.

UNC closes the road trip Sunday at noon in Pocatello, Idaho against the Bengals.
