Bears Drop Hard-Fought Battle at Idaho State

POCATELLO, Idaho – Northern Colorado finished its road trip on the wrong side of a 1-0 result against Idaho State at Davis Field Sunday.
The Bears outshot Idaho State 16-12, with Lexi Tuite totaling a quarter of the attempts by UNC. Sunnie Yarnell recorded three shots, while Ava Marshall and Brooke Holmberg netted two apiece.
"It was a tough day in Pocatello," head coach Tim Barrera said. "That is how it goes in the Big Sky Conference. We kept pushing for the equalizer."
Mia Norman, Samantha Carter, Lauryn Maggio, Rachel Mortensen and Morgan King inked one shot attempt each.
UNC attempted 11 shots over the final 45 minutes. The Bears registered four corner kicks while allowing five. They committed four fouls, with 10 by the Bengals.
The lone goal occurred in the 26th minute on an attempt by Idaho State that found the upper right corner of the Bears goal.
