Hartman Leads Bears at Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. — Freshman Jaci Hartman carded a 1-under-par Wednesday in the final round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club (Par 72/6,328 yards).
"I am happy with the development from Kansas State to this week," UNC Director of Golf Clayton Sikorski said. "We were much better on the greens as a unit. Coach Tina has stressed that in practice and it showed on very tough greens."
Following back-to-back 74s in the first two rounds, Hartman recorded five birdies to move up six spots and finish in a three-way tie for 29th at 219.
UNC finished 13th in the stacked 16-team field, totaling 299-300-296—895, two strokes behind Eastern Michigan and seven ahead of East Tennessee State.
Kailey Bass finished in a six-way tie for 40th, with a 71-76-75—222. Timbre Shehee earned a two-way tie for 50th with a 224 (75-76-73—224), while Samantha Columbine fired an 81-74-77—232.
"It was nice to see the freshman step up and show what they can do," Sikorski said. "We are excited to get back to work and improve further at Seattle's event next week."
UNC returns to action Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 at the Harbottle Invitational – hosted by Seattle.
