Maddie Davies Earns Big Sky Weekly Honor

FARMINGTON, Utah – Maddie Davies earned Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, league officials announced Monday.
Davies, a senior middle blocker from Greenacres, Washington, helped the Bears to a 3-0 week, with victories over Colorado, Air Force and Denver.
"Maddie is scoring well right now even as teams are keying on her," head coach Lyndsey Oates said. "She put up good numbers in kills while still hitting a high percentage. We can feed her a lot because of our good ball control and Syd's range from the setting position."
She hit .470 and tallied 48 kills, with nine errors on 83 swings, averaging 3.69 kills per set over the 13 games. Davies recorded a minimum .400 hitting percentage, with at least 10 kills in all three contests. On defense, Davies inked 13 blocks and four digs.
At Colorado, Davies netted 22 successful attacks – a career-high – with four miscues on 34 attempts.
Davies finished the week at the Mile High Classic against Air Force and at Denver. In the tilt against the Falcons, she inked 10 kills and one error on 19 swings against Air Force. Davies recorded 16 kills and four errors on 30 attacks at Denver.
