Bears Fall to South Dakota State

GREELEY, Colo. – Senior goalkeeper Kaya Lindberg turned away 60 percent of the shots on goal but UNC dropped a hard-fought contest against South Dakota State at Jackson Stadium Monday.
Junior Brooke Holmberg, senior Rachel Mortensen and freshman Ava Marshall each registered a shot, with all three attempts on target.
South Dakota State scored on a rebound in the 26th minute and doubled its advantage with a penalty kick in the 52nd minute.

"I thought we played pretty well but made a couple of costly mistakes. Overall, we had good performances from Rachel Mortensen, Sydney Engelkins, Ava Marshall to name a few. Kaya Lindberg gave a professional effort and was fantastic. Taryn Rea had a great game."
