Bears Open SLC Tournament Play Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. – Northern Colorado opens Summit League Tournament play Wednesday at 11 a.m. against top-seeded Omaha at J. L. Johnson Field.
The Bears (14-36-1) make their first appearance in the tournament since joining the league for baseball before the 2022 season. They earned the fourth and final seed after taking two of three at North Dakota State last weekend.
Omaha (18-30-1) claimed a 2-1 series victory over South Dakota State in the final series before the tournament and earned the top seed. St. Thomas won the regular season but the Tommies are ineligible to compete in the championship during a five-year transition from NCAA Division III to Division I.
UNC leads the tournament field scoring 6.5 runs per game, with Oral Roberts next at 6.2. Oral Roberts paces the field with a .270 batting average, with Northern Colorado at .269. The Bears led the four teams in Tulsa in home runs, home runs per game, hit-by pitch, on-base percentage and scoring.
