Bullpen is Bright Spot for Bears

TULSA, Okla. – Northern Colorado's bullpen shined in a 6-3 setback against Oral Roberts Saturday at JL Johnson Stadium.
Jack Tuttle, Trevor Landen and Mason Bright combined to toss three scoreless innings and retired all nine batters the trio faced.
Landen registered two strikeouts in a scoreless seventh.
Carson Gross and Craig Kenny tallied two hits each for UNC (12-34-1,11-14-1 Summit League), while Brandon Sanchez, Garrett Fisher and Carter Monda inked a knock each.
Oral Roberts (22-27-1,11-13-1 Summit League) held a 6-0 lead after five innings with two runs in the second and four in the fifth.
Gross opened the sixth with a single and scored the Bears' first run when Sanchez laced a double down the left-field line. Caden Wagner's productive out moved Sanchez to third and he crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly from Kai Wagner.
Fisher led off the ninth with a double and cut the deficit to three on an RBI double off the bat of Kenny. The Bears failed to close the gap any further.
Despite the loss, UNC's magic number to clinch a berth in the Summit League Championship Tournament closed to three with South Dakota State's extra-inning loss at home to North Dakota State.
