dGREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado track and field made history with three event championships at the 101st running of the Kansas Relays – hosted by Kansas at Rock Chalk Park.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team, Jerome Campbell and Wendira Moss collected the first-ever titles for UNC at the event in program history.
"Both the men and women competed well this weekend despite the temperature change between the two days of competition and everything that was going on around them," head coach Wayne Angel said. "If we run into adverse conditions like we had, we can always look back and draw from our experience here at the Kansas Relays."
Along with the historical run in the 4x400-meter relay by Raphael Egbuchilem, Jesse Hayward, Donovan Castillo and August Van de Weijer, the Bears tallied 13 medals.
"I'm proud of the way our men's mile relay team of Raphael, Jesse, Donovan and August became the first champions in school history at the prestigious Kansas Relays," Angel said.
