Bears Face No. 8 Idaho State in BSC Quarterfinals

BOISE, IDAHO – Northern Colorado opens its portion of the 2024 Idaho Central Credit Union Big Sky Conference Basketball Championship against eighth-seeded Idaho State Sunday at 8 p.m. at Idaho Central Arena.
The No. 2 Bears (19-12, 12-6 Big Sky) face the Bengals for the third time this season, including twice in eight days. Idaho State defeated No. 7 Northern Arizona 68-60 in the first round Saturday, advancing to the quarterfinal against UNC.
Northern Colorado hung on for an 81-79 triumph on the Bengals home court in Pocatello, Idaho March 2. The Bears earned a 91-86 victory in double overtime at Bank of Colorado Arena Thursday, March 1.
UNC trails the all-time series 27-37 but leads 20-13 during the NCAA Division I era, including 7-3 over the last 10 meetings.

The winner of the UNC-Idaho State contest earns a day off from competition before returning Tuesday at 8 p.m., in the semifinals against the winner of the No. 3 Montana – No. 6 Portland State quarterfinal. The Grizzlies and Vikings clast at 8 p.m. Monday.
In other action, No. 10 Sacramento State advanced to a quarterfinal with a 72-64 over No. 9 Idaho. The Hornets take on top-seeded Eastern Washington at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. No. 4 Weber State and No. 5 Montana State meet in the last quarterfinal round game at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
