MOSCOW, Idaho/CHENEY, Wash. – Northern Colorado women's basketball returns to the hardwood for its final Big Sky regular season road swing at Idaho and Eastern Washington. UNC and UI is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. and the Bears and Eagles are set for Saturday at 3 p.m.

Thursday night's match-up between the Bears and Vandals will be the 19th meeting between the two programs. The series is tied at 9-9 and UI has won two in a row. Over the past 10 games, UNC is 3-7 versus. The Bears have fared well on the road versus the Vandals and are 4-3 all-time in Moscow.

Last time vs. Idaho (1/27/24 – Greeley, Colo.)

UI defeated UNC 60-56. Aniah Hall came off the bench and scored 19 points while grabbing six rebounds. Hall was also 9-for-10 at the free-throw line. Seneca Hackley scored 13 points and handed out three assists, and Delaynie Byrne scored seven points and tallied 10 rebounds.

When the Bears and Eagles match up on Saturday, it will be the 35th time UNC and EWU will meet. The Bears hold a 20-14 series advantage, and the Bears are 6-4 over the past 10 games. UNC has enjoyed success in Cheney with a 9-7 mark.

EWU narrowly defeated UNC 68-62. Four UNC student-athletes scored in double digits in the setback. Byrne scored a team-high 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and handed out two assists. Byrne also drilled four 3-pointers. Hackley dropped 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field. Tatum West scored 11 points and Hall added 10 points.

As the regular season comes to the home stretch, the standings are starting to fall into place. The Bears are 7-6 in conference play, and one game ahead of 6-7 Idaho. On Saturday, UNC will match up against 11-2 and conference leader EWU. A pair of wins this weekend would further solidify a top-six seed and a first-round bye in the Big Sky tournament.

Hannah Simental ranks second in the conference with a 40.6 percent (58-for-143) 3-point shooting percentage. Coming into the season, Byrne was known as the primary weapon in the post. Hall has emerged as another option for the Bears. Byrne is second in the conference with 7.8 rebounds per game, and Hall is ninth in the league and averages 5.9 rebounds per game.
