Bennett Named UNC Student-Athlete of the Week

GREELEY, Colo. – Isabel Bennett earned the Luna's Taco UNC Student-Athlete of the Week honor, with her performance in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship First and Second Rounds, announced by the athletics communications staff Monday.
Bennett, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, tallied nearly a quarter of Northern Colorado's 132 kills over the two matches.
She netted 21 winners on 29 swings, without an error in the first-round victory over App State. The performance set a program NCAA Division I era record for the most kills without an error in a single match.
Bennett tallied 11 kills on 23 attempts, with just one miscue in the victory at Georgia Southern, totaling 32 kills on 52 attacks and one error. She added a team-high nine blocks, including three solos in the pair of contests.
She and the rest of the Bears travel to Tucson, Arizona, for a quarterfinal match, hosted by Arizona, against Arkansas State at 3 p.m., Wednesday.
