Erokhina & Rabess Set Multiple National Records at Short Course World Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary – The Northern Colorado swimming duo of Maria Erokhina and Kyra Rabess combined for four national records during the 2024 Short Course World Championships.
Erokhina swam the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:09.49 and the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:31.31, breaking the Cyprus national record in both events.
Rabess competed in the 400 freestyle and the 800 freestyle, collecting times of 4:14.77 and 8:46.13. The sophomore broke the Cayman Islands national records in both events.
"I'm incredibly proud of the way that Kyra and Maria stepped up to represent their countries and UNC. They both have worked so hard to get to this level of competition and it's really fun to see that hard work paying off," said UNC head swimming coach Lisa Ebeling, "this is just another step in what is turning into an incredible journey for their swimming careers and I'm excited to continue watching each of them grow."
