PHILADELPHIA – No. 19 Northern Colorado (2-1) rode its early advantage to a 22-13 triumph over Penn (0-1) at The Palestra Saturday.

The Bears built a 9-0 advantage with wins by Stevo Poulin, Dominick Serrano and Andrew Alirez. Following a setback at 149 pounds, Vincent Zerban pushed the advantage to 12-5 midway through the match.

Clayton Ulrey registered a major decision at 165 pounds, moving the margin to 16-5. A tech fall for the Quakers sliced the gap to six before AJ Heeg earned a hard-fought sudden victory at 184 pounds and nudged the advantage out to 19-10.

Andrew Donahue's 4-1 decision secured the team win, with one bout remaining on the card.
