TWO-TIME OLYMPIAN AND NCAA CHAMPION VICTOR HOUSTON JOINS UNC TRACK & FIELD STAFF

Greeley, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado welcomes Two-Time Olympian, Four-time All-American and NCAA Champion, Victor Houston to its track and field coaching staff.
Houston, a former celebrated athlete hailing from St. Michael, Barbados, assumes the role of Associate Head Track and Field coach, announced by Director of Track and Field, Wayne Angel.
Before joining UNC, Houston completed a five -year coaching stint at The Ohio State University, where his contributions were instrumental in winning six Big Ten team titles, as well as two top four team finishes at the NCAA championships.
Victor Houston, a name synonymous with excellence, boasts an extraordinary career that transcends many borders, a custodian of Barbados national pride, he holds multiple national records, including the 60-meter hurdles, the 400-meter hurdles and the Decathlon.
Remarkably, his accolades extend to the Carifta Games, where his name is etched in history as the most decorated athlete to grace the games. His medal tally, a staggering fifteen, comprises six gold, six silver and three bronze, a record that remains to this day.
Beyond his homeland, Houston has left an indelible mark on the global stage as a two-time Olympian. His journey includes representing Barbados in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where he displayed his exceptional talents to the world, and again in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
As a coach, Houston's impact is equally profound. He has mentored and guided an impressive forty-one division one All-Americans. His coaching prowess has not only fostered individual successes, but also produced a national champion in the Triple jump at the NCAA championships.
In his new role, Houston assumes the mantle of leadership for the vertical and horizontal jumps, as well as the multi-events.
