Koelzer, Schuetz Earn Colorado Army National Guard Bears of the Week Honor

Jace Koelzer set the tone for Northern Colorado wrestling and Kelsi Schuetz turned in three top 15 times for the conference for track and field to earn this week's Colorado Army National Guard Bears of the Week honor.
Jace Koelzer, Redshirt Freshman, Wrestling
Jace Koelzer started the opening match of the Northern Colorado-Cal Poly dual on Friday night. Koelzer controlled his opponent Benny Martinez in the match, with eight takedowns, a two-point nearfall and two penalty points. Koelzer led Martinez 3-0 after the first period and extended it to 11-1 after the second. The redshirt-freshman ended the match in the third period, recording five of his eight takedowns to get the 21-6 tech fall at 6:41. Koelzer's win helped propel UNC to a 25-18 win over Cal Poly.
Kelsi Schuetz, Sophomore, Track and Field
Kelsi Schuetz was on the women's 4x400 relay team that turned in the third-best time of the year in the Big Sky at 3:51.26. Schuetz moved her name up the performance list for the 60m and 400m. In the 400m she crossed the line in 56.80 for the seventh-best time in the Big Sky. Her mark of 7.78 ranks 11th for the 60m.
