GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado football team is now under the leadership of veteran head football coach Ed Lamb. Despite the change in leadership within the football program, there were several highlights from the 2022 season.
-Elijah Dotson, who signed a free-agent contract with the San Diego Chargers, was fourth in the Big Sky Conference in rushing with 928 yards along with six touchdowns. Dotson averaged 84.4 rushing yards per game
-Dotson finished with four 100-yard rushing games in a season and five games with a rushing touchdown in a season – Both tied UNC records
-Dotson was second in the conference in all-purpose yards (1562) and average yards per game (142.0)
-Dylan McCaffrey finished 10th in the Big Sky in averaged yards in total offense with 187.4 yards per game
-McCaffrey set the single-game completion percentage record (9/24/2022 vs. Idaho State): 82.1 percent (23-for-28)
-Elijah Anderson-Taylor named Second Team All-Big Sky at linebacker
-Dotson was named Second Team All-Big Sky and was Special Teams Player of the Week (Sept. 26)
-Jordan Knapke was voted Third Team All-Big Sky as a defensive back
-Ed Lamb was named the new head coach on December 6, 2022
