Broughton Named Preseason All-American

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado long snapper Maddox Broughton was named a Second-Team Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American, announced on Monday.
Broughton, beginning his third season at UNC, started all 12 games a season ago, earning All-Big Sky Honorable Mention and Stats Perform FCS Freshman All-American honors.
He anchored a Bears special teams unit that ranked top three in the Big Sky in net punting and featured a top six conference placekicker and punter by average. Broughton successfully snapped on all 59 punts and 21 field goals and extra points without a recorded miscue.
Broughton will look to continue his strong play as the Bears open the season on Friday August 28 against Weber State in the first game under the lights at Nottingham Field, tickets are on sale now.
