Bears Closeout Regular Season with Win at Idaho State

POCATELLO, Idaho – Northern Colorado jumped out to a 14-5 first half lead and defeated Idaho State 53-46 in the final Big Sky regular season game of the season.
The Bears improve to 12-17 and 5-13 in Big Sky play, while ISU falls to 11-18 and 6-12 within the conference.
UNC used a balance offensive attack to keep the Bengals at bay with three student-athletes scoring 10 points.
Delaynie Byrne scored 10 points along with 13 rebounds to post the double-double, Gabi Fields dropped 10 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the floor, while Hannah Simental helped with 10 points and shot 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.
Sydney Stensgard and Averee Kleinhans each added eight points,
It was the Bears' fast start that carried the team to the win.
As a team in the first quarter, the Bears shot 41.67 percent (5-for-12) from the field, it was UNC's pressure on defense that caused problems and held ISU to 18.18 percent (2-for-11) from the floor.
