Byrne Scores Game-High 22 Points at NAU

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Delaynie Byrne scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Northern Arizona outlasted Northern Colorado 66-48 Saturday afternoon in Big Sky Conference play.
NAU improved to 18-12 and 12-5 in the conference, while UNC stands at 11-17 and 4-13 in league action.
Byrne was an efficient 7-for-9 from the floor and went 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. The Arvada native finished a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.
Sydney Stensgard came off the bench and added nine points while going 5-for-5 at the free-throw line.
Averee Kleinhans finished 4-for-4 at the charity stripe.
The Bears, which rank top 15 nationally and first in the Big Sky in free-throw percentage, finished a perfect 15-for-15 at the stripe.

UNC concludes the regular season Monday at Idaho State at 6 p.m. The Bears will then begin preparations for the Big Sky basketball tournament that's set to begin Saturday in Boise, Idaho.
