LOGAN, Utah – The University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team returns to the court and travels to Mountain West Conference foe Utah State on Saturday. The opening tip is set for 7 p.m.

UNC and USU

This is the third meeting between the two programs and the series is tied at 1-1. The Bears won the last meeting, which was played on December 1, 2015, which was a 74-60 UNC win. The last match-up in Logan was December 14, 2014, and USU won 65-61. This marks the first time UNC will match up with USU under the leadership of head coach Kristen Mattio.

The Bears are playing well on both sides of the coin, and rank in the top 5 in the conference in offense and defense. UNC averages 70.7 points per game (fourth in the Big Sky) and allows an average of 61.6 (fifth in the Big Sky) points per game.

UNC leads the conference with a 37.9 percent team 3-point field goal percentage. Individually, Delaynie Byrne and Hannah Simental rank in the top five in 3-point field goal percentage. Byrne is second in the conference and converting 50.0 percent (19-for-38) from the floor, and Simental ranks fourth, connecting on 39.0 percent (16-for-41) from the field.

Byrne is one of the most efficient scorers in the conference, converting 54.3 percent (44-for-81) of her field goal attempts.
