GREELEY, Colo. – Syd Cole earned her Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week, league staff announced Monday.
"We had a solid weekend offensively and that is primarily because of Syd," head coach Lyndsey Oates said. "She made good decisions and gave our hitters a chance at every opportunity. She just continues to get better."
Cole collected the third weekly honor of her career and first this season after quarterbacking the Northern Colorado offense in a pair of road wins at Idaho and Eastern Washington.
The Parker, Colo., native averaged an impressive 10.29 assists per set, totaling 72 over the seven sets. She hit .667 over the two contests, with six kills on nine attacks, with zero errors and added 16 digs, five blocks and a pair of service aces on the weekend.
This is the second consecutive Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week Award, with Makenzie Harris claiming the honor last week.
Cole and the Bears conclude the regular season with a pair of home matches, beginning with Idaho State Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. The match is the annual military appreciation game.
Prior to the finale against Weber State Saturday, Nov. 18, the five seniors will be recognized for their contributions to the university, the athletic department and the volleyball program. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
Currently, the Bears are locked in a three-way tie for second in the league standings.
