Bears Fall to Sacramento State

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado fell in straight sets against Sacramento State at Bank of Colorado Arena Thursday.
Gabi Placide entered off the bench and led the Bears with a .333 hitting percentage, converting 12 of 21 swings, with five errors. Syd Cole quarterbacked the offense with 31 assists, while Michaela Boon anchored the defense with 11 digs.
Leading 21-16 in game one, the Hornets closed out the frame with four straight points, their second run of at least four.
Trailing 19-14, UNC closed the deficit to 22-21, before Sacramento State netted three of the final four points and carried a 2-0 advantage into intermission.
Knotted 17-17 – the 10th tie in game three – the Vikings netted an 8-3 spurt to close out the contest.
