SETTING THE SCENE
UNC closes out the home portion of the 2023 slate Sunday, Oct. 15, against Montana. Prior to the match, the team will honor five seniors for their contributions to the program during their time in Greeley. With three games remaining on the schedule, the Bears hold the eighth spot on the Big Sky table. The top six teams qualify for the Big Sky Soccer Tournament and UNC trails Eastern Washington and Idaho State by one point. Montana and Portland State sit atop the table with 13 points.

LAST TIME OUT
Northern Colorado suffered a 3-0 setback against Northern Arizona at Lumberjack Stadium Sunday. The Lumberjacks outshot the Bears, 25-6, including shots on goal 13-4. UNC committed eight fouls while inducing 10 by NAU. The Lumberjacks registered four corner kicks, while the Bears had two. The Bears goalkeepers combined for 10 saves, while NAU registered five.

SERIES HISTORY
UNC leads the all-time series 9-7-5, including 6-1-2 on its home pitch. The Bears own a 2-2-1 mark over the last five matches. They enter with a seven-match (5-0-2) unbeaten streak in Greeley, with the only loss on home soil occurring Oct. 25, 2009. Last season, the Grizzlies claimed a 2-1 triumph in Missoula, Montana, extending their home unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1).

ON THIS DATE
On Oct. 15, UNC owns a 5-3-0 record in program history, including 4-2-0 at home. The Bears won their last two matches on this date, spanning an 11-year gap. UNC defeated Eastern Washington 1-0 on the road in 2021 and a 3-2 overtime victory at home against Portland State in 2010.

YOUTH SERVED
Freshmen and sophomore's account for six of the Bears' seven goals, 86% of the team's offense. Rookies Lexi Tuite and Mia Norman combine for four goals, with Tuite's three goals pace the team. Sophomores Riley Kaali-Nagy and Alex Michael registered one marker each, while senior Morgan King netted one goal.
