Women's Golf Preview: The Big O Classic

GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado women's golf team returns to the course Monday and Tuesday at the Big O Classic – hosted by Creighton – at Oak Hills Country Club (par 73/6,088 yards) in Omaha, Nebraska.
Competing for the Bears: Louise Dahl, Timbre Shehee, Carolina Fallotico, Maria Vallejo Gomez and Marija Jucmane, while Amy Chitkoksoong will compete as an individual.
Along with Northern Colorado, the 12-team field includes Creighton, Idaho State, Missouri State, Montana, Omaha, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, UNI, UTRGV, Western Illinois and Wichita State.
The team competition includes 36 holes Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MT. The event concludes Tuesday, with 18 holes of play. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT, groups will tee off from the first and tenth holes. Each five-member team will count the top four scores each day.

ABOUT OAK HILLS COUNTRY CLUB: Known as one of the area's finest golf courses with just the right amount of challenge, Oak Hills Country Club's 18-hole course covers 120 acres, with a reputation of being one of the best maintained in the region. The course consists of A-4 bent grass greens, bent-grass tees, fairways and bluegrass/rye roughs.

In addition, our off-season indoor golf studio features state-of-the-art technology to record, track and analyze your swing, ball flight and putting stroke.
Known as one of the area's finest courses, with just the right amount of challenge, this 18-hole course covers 120 acres and is one of the best maintained in the region. The course consists of A-4 bent grass greens, bent grass trees and fairways and bluegrass/rye roughs. In 2005, the front nine of the golf course underwent a major renovation by well-known and respected golf course architect Kevin Atkinson. The renovation included hole redesigns, bunker updates and green complexes. In 2018, the club completed a 1.8-million-dollar renovation of its back nine including new water features, rock walls, a complete re-design of six holes and 18-hole bunker renovations using the "Better Billy Bunker System" with white angular sand.
