GREELEY, Colo. -- GREELEY, Colo. – No.1-ranked and Greeley native Andrew Alirez improved to 16-0 with a dominating 10-3 decision over No. 10 Clay Carlson.

The Bears started the match on a hot streak with its opening four wrestlers winning. No. 10 Stevo Poulin (125) earned a 9-2 decision over Tanner Jordan, Jace Koelzer (133) won 6-4 SV-1, and Chris Sandoval (149) dominated with a 10-2 majority decision.

ACCORDING TO COACH NICKERSON

"I thought overall we wrestled well tonight. A few situations and we come away with that one. Really happy with our lightweights getting started the right way. Andrew Alirez is a machine and continues to separate himself. We look forward to another big match on Sunday. It was great to see such a great crowd. We need people to continue to show up."
