Bears look to end skid at Portland State

The Northern Colorado men's basketball team looks to end a seven-game losing skid, taking on the Portland State Vikings this Saturday, Jan. 14, at 8pm (MT) in Portland, Ore.
• Northern Colorado is 13-19 all-time against the Vikings.
• Despite losing both regular season games against Portland State last season, Daylen Kountz put up 36 points against the Vikings in the Big Sky Tournament to lift the Bears to an 86-79 victory in the semifinals on March 11.
• The last time UNC defeated the Vikings in Portland was on Dec. 31, 2018, by a score of 73-60.
• Through 17 games this season Dalton Knecht is second in the Big Sky for scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game. First place in league scoring belongs to Idaho's Isaac Jones (19.8 ppg).
• Knecht has led the Bears in scoring nine times this season.
• This past Thursday at Sacramento State, Northern Colorado faced a 16-point deficit with less than four minutes to play in the second half, and fought back to cut Sac State's lead to just five with under a minute to play. Unfortunately, the Hornets finished off the game, hitting three-for-four free throws for the 72-64 win.
• Freshman Brock Wisne had a career-best night at Sacramento State putting up 12 points, shotting 5-for-11, including hitting one three pointer.
• Fellow freshman Langston Reynolds set career-highs in points (12), minutes played (17), field goals made (5), three-pointers made (2), and steals (1) in the loss to Montana State.
