Women's Golf Opened 2022-23 Season in the Bayou

UNC women's golf started the 2022-23 season at the Green Wave Fall Classic
NEW ORLEANS – Northern Colorado women's golf headed to the Big Easy to open its 2022-23 season competing in the Green Wave Fall Classic hosted by Tulane. UNC and 13 other teams took on the Bayou Oaks at City Park Course for the 54-hole event.
The Bears shot a 30-over, 894 for the event to finish in 13th place.
Northern Colorado's lineup featured a trio of newcomers who ended up having the best tournaments for the team. Marija Jucmane turned in the best performance finishing tied for 52nd with a 7-over, 223. Her best round of the tournament came in the first round with an even-par 72. She led the team with 37 pars and six birdies.
Fellow newcomers Timbre Shehee and Carolina Fallotico finished two strokes behind Jucmane with a 9-over, 225. Fallotico shot the best round of the tournament for the Bears with a 3-under, 69 on Tuesday. The round included an eagle and two birdies.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado returns to the links next week when they head to Birmingham, Alabama for the UAB Hoover Invite at Heatherwood Golf and Country Club. The event takes place on September 19 and 20.
