Volleyball finalizes 2022 schedule with non-conference slate

GREELEY, Colo. - UNC Volleyball has finalized its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2022 season. The team will play a total of 11 intriguing matchups early this coming fall.
"We are very excited for the fall, " said head coach Lyndsey Oates. "With our trip to Greece and Italy in June, we will get even more preparation with our veteran team. We are going to need it because we start off with our toughest tournament of the season on the first weekend. We are very lucky to get North Carolina and UCSB on our home court and we need to take advantage of it with a great home-crowd atmosphere. Then we'll travel to South Dakota and Nebraska-Omaha who are both consistently at the top of the Summit League so that will prepare us for conference well.
"For Big Sky play we will have 16 matches within 9 weeks. We will play everyone twice except for Montana and Weber State. That is a unique piece to the schedule that we will only have one shot at those teams. Speaking to the last three years the match with Weber could determine the conference championship. I'm glad we get them at home! We will turn around though and play the conference tournament on their home floor."

Following an exhibition match with the Pioneers on August 20, UNC will kick off its season hosting UC Santa Barbara and North Carolina at Bank of Colorado Arena on August 26 and 27.

The Bears will then hit the road for a six-game road stint against Colorado State (Aug. 30), Wichita State (Sept. 2), and Nebraska-Omaha (Sept. 3). They will also spend three games in Vermillion, South Dakota as they face West Virginia (Sept. 9), CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 9), and South Dakota (Sept. 10).

Northern Colorado will conclude non-conference matches back in Greeley on September 15-17 as they host Tarleton State, Cal Poly, and Santa Clara.

Big Sky play will then commence on September 22 as the Bears travel to Idaho State.
