Women’s Golf Set to Compete in the Cowgirl Classic

GREELEY, Colo.- UNC Women's Golf will travel to Maricopa, Arizona as they start their week by competing in the Cowgirl Classic hosted by Wyoming. The two-day tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. Joining the Bears and host Wyoming in the tournament are fellow Big Sky schools Montana State, Eastern Washington, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Portland State, Idaho and Montana.
Abbi Fleiner led the Bears with a tie for 42nd finish the last time the team took to the course at the Red Rocks Invitational in March. Although all five golfers that competed for UNC placed in the top 100 of the tournament, the team came in 17th of 19 teams overall.
The Cowgirl Classic gives Northern Colorado the chance to prove themselves against familiar regional foes Wyoming, among other teams and move up the board from the previous week.

UNC will next participate in the Bobcat Desert Classic hosted by Montana State on April 11-12 in Goodyear, Arizona in their final regular season meet before the Big Sky Championships.
