Northern Colorado finished ahead of three Big Sky schools at the tournament
MARICOPA, Ariz. – Northern Colorado women's golf finished ahead of three Big Sky schools at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona over Monday and Tuesday. UNC finished ahead of Montana, Montana State and Portland State out of the eight Big Sky schools in the 22-team field.
Amy Chitkoksoong had the best tournament for the Bears shooting an 11-over, 227 over the 54 holes. She sandwiched a 1-over 73 with a pair of 5-over 77s at the tournament. The 73 started with a birdie and then saw her make 10 straight pars. Chitkoksoong led the team with 38 pars.
Jenna Chung also earned a top 75 finish tying for 71st with an 18-over, 234. Chung's best round came during Monday morning's opening round with a 4-over, 76. She recorded a pair of birdies during that round.
UNC finished 19th as a team with a 75-over, 939 for the 54-holes.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado has one more tune up before the Big Sky Tournament near the end of the month. The Bears will participate in the Bobcat Desert Classic hosted by Montana State at Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona. The tournament features eight Big Sky schools over April 11 and 12.
