Men's basketball's run falls short in the Big Sky title game

UNC men's basketball fell in the Big Sky championship 87-66
BOISE, Idaho – The lowest shooting percentage of the year came at the worst time for Northern Colorado Saturday night. The Bears shot a season-low 30.2% dropping the Big Sky title game 87-66 to Montana State.
MSU started the game with a 9-2 lead and held it throughout. The Bears trailed 40-28 at the break, shooting 29.6% in the first half.
UNC kept the deficit around 10-14 to open the second half, but a MSU 6-0 run pushed the lead to 19 with 13 minutes left.
The Bears battled to the end with a late 13-3 run, but it was too little too late.

- Bodie Hume became Northern Colorado's all-time leader in made threes with his pair on Saturday. The senior has 258 for his career passing Sean Taibi (2004-08). The Sterling native finished with 10 points, six rebounds and an assist.
- Hume also now sits in the program's top 5 for all-time scorers with 1,494 points.
- Daylen Kountz scored another 20 points in the game. He earned All-Big Sky Tournament honors averaging 24.3 points per game in it.
- Kur Jongkuch finished two rebounds shy of a double-double with 12 points and eight rebounds.
- Once again Dalton Knecht scored double figures off the bench with 14.

Northern Colorado ends the year with a 20-15 mark. It is the fourth time in five years the Bears have recorded 20 wins.
