GREELEY, Colo. – Baseball is back in Colorado! Northern Colorado hosts Mount Marty for a four-game set across two days at Jackson Stadium.

Saturday marks the 2022 home opener for the Bears. In its last five home openers at Jackson Stadium, UNC is 3-2.
Northern Colorado's middle infield has been a strong point for the Bears in the early parts of 2022. With eight double plays, UNC has turned two more than any team in the Summit and rank No. 98 in the country.
Freshman Jack Tuttle has emerged as a definitive weapon on the mound for the Bears. With an ERA of 1.84, Tuttle ranks third among qualifying pitchers in the conference and No. 165 in the country.
Centerfielder Hayden Heinze doesn't just use his speed on the base path. The junior from Fort Collins has collected a team-leading two sacrifice bunts on the season. That mark is third-best in the Summit League and No. 58 in the country.

Northern Colorado picked up its first win of the season behind Josh Glenn's home run and 5.1 scoreless innings from freshman Jack Tuttle. While SLU took the series, 3-1, the Bears return to Greeley with a bit of momentum ahead of its home opener.
Scouting the Lancers
In his 18th season at the helm of the Lancer program, head coach Andy Bernatow brings yet another talented Mount Marty squad into Greeley. Already the winningest coach in Lancer history, Bernatow's Mount Marty crew were picked to finish third in the GPAC this season and bring a 12-3 record to Jackson Stadium this weekend.
Nine different Lancers average north of .300 who have at least 10 at-bats this season. Outfield David Richardson leads the bunch, batting .533 with one home run and three RBI on the season.
Pitcher Myles Brown recently picked up GPAC pitcher of the week honors. Brown pitched seven scoreless innings against Dickinson State with five strikeouts.
