Alirez leads pre-seeds for Big 12 Wrestling Championship

IRVING, Texas – All eyes point to Tulsa, Oklahoma this week in Big 12 wrestling as the conference championship is set to begin March 5-6. Ahead of the first round of action on Saturday, four Bears have been selected as tournament pre-seeds.
Andrew Alirez leads the way for Northern Colorado, grabbing the No. 3 seed in the 141 division.
Both Chris Sandoval and Alan Clothier earned the No. 7 seed in their respective weight classes. Sandoval in 149 and Clothier in 197.
In the 125-pound bracket, Jace Koelzer will enter the weekend as the No. 8 seed.
Five other UNC wrestlers will the matt in Tulsa. Dyson Kunz, Nick Knutson, Jackson Hemauer, Xavier Vasquez and Jacob Seely will all look to cause havoc in their respective brackets.
Big 12 Now on ESPN+ will broadcast the first three sessions of the event while the championship round will air on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. Sunday.
