Bears Look to Clinch Bye, Host Eastern Washington

UNC men's basketball hosts Eastern Washington Thursday night
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's basketball continues its busy week at home by hosting Eastern Washington at 6 pm Thursday. It is Greek Night at Bank of Colorado Arena with UNC recognizing all of the Greek Life in attendance. Students arrive early for free Chik-Fil-A!

Opening Tip
- Northern Colorado avenged its earlier loss to Idaho State by taking care of the Bengals at home 77-70.
- Bodie Hume led the team with his fifth 20 point game of the season. He also led the team in assists and blocks with two each.
- Daylen Kountz was busy at the free throw line going 9-for-10 scoring half his 18 points from there.
- Kountz continues to lead the Big Sky in scoring averaging 20.6 points per game and ranking 12th in the nation. In Big Sky play he is averaging 21.9 ppg.
- UNC clinches a first round bye in the Big Sky Tournament with a win on Thursday.
- Kur Jongkuch was a perfect 6-for-6 in the win scoring 12 points and leading the team with eight rebounds.

Scouting the Eagles
First-year head coach David Riley is looking for his team to find consistency down the stretch. The Eagles are 8-8 in Big Sky playing with recent wins over league-leader Montana State and second place Weber State.
The Eagles are averaging 77.1 points a game led by redshirt freshman Steele Venters and his 16.8 ppg. Venters leads the Big Sky shooting 45.1% from behind the arc.
Linton Acliese gives the team an inside-out combo averaging 16.4 points and 7.1 rebounds. He was named Co-Big Sky Player of the week after scoring 38 points in the team's win over MSU.
Around the Big Sky
With two weeks left in conference play, Montana State holds a 1.5 game lead over Weber State for the regular season title. Northern Colorado and Southern Utah are two games back. Both still play at MSU.
Thursday night's game to watch is Montana at Southern Utah.
What's Ahead
UNC hosts Idaho on Saturday for its final home game of the year. Prior to the 6 pm tip-off, the Bears will honor five seniors in Bodie Hume, Matt Johnson II, Kur Jogkuch, Dru Kuxhausen and Tre'shon Smoots.
