UNC basketball earned revenge for its loss in Pocatello last Thursday
GREELEY, Colo. – Playing their fourth game in eight days Northern Colorado men's basketball willed its way to a 77-70 win over Idaho State. The win comes four days after falling to the Bengals in Pocatello.
A pair of runs were key for UNC to pull away from ISU in the win.
The Bears had a sluggish start to the game but found their groove just before the half. Following the final media timeout, UNC closed the first half on a 13-5 including scoring the final eight points to take a 34-32 lead into the locker room.
Matt Johnson scored seven of his 13 points in the game during the run.
Northern Colorado then held Idaho State without a field goal for almost 10 minutes. During that time UNC extended its lead from up two to up 15 with an 18-5 run.
Senior Bodie Hume scored 10 of the team's points over the run, by doing a little of everything. He finished with a game-high 20 points.
Idaho State did not give in, cutting a 16-point deficit to seven with 2:41 left, but the Bears closed out the game at the free throw line going 10-for-11 down the stretch.
